Will my insurance cover a breast lift?
I had my daughter about 2 years ago and afterwards my breasts began to get saggier and now that I have been shedding the baby weight they are getting even more lose and is basically just skin. This has become extremely uncomfortable and it hurts even with the slightest touch at my breasts. I really want to get a breast lift and I just need to know that if it is this discomforting for me, will my insurance (TriCare) pay for it???

no because it is cosmetic
unless you can convince your insurance company it is medical and is causing too much to operate in daily life
try to get a referral from your PCP that this is medical
You have more of a shot, with the medical problems, than if you just WANTED it, I suppose.
Nope. Insurances do not cover plastic surgeries.
Insurance usually doesn’t cover cosmetic surgeries. (unnecessary ones)
No it is cosmetic.
No it is considered Cosmetic and insurance does not cover cosmetic. If you can get a proper reason from your doctor that they are affecting your health then they might. Alot of cosmetic places offer payment plans or credit which give you up to 2 years to pay it off.
Most insurance companies don’t pay for procedures like that. You should contact a rep from Tri-Care to find out. Good luck.
If you can prove you are in pain because of the sagging breast they should approve it. But its gonna be hard cause any kind of cosmetic surgery insurances don’t like to cover. Do your homework and find a doctor who can help you.
My cats boobs arre probabley saggier because when she gave birth to me i had to fite teh other kitties and they won but i got no milk i was hecka pissed off some times its hard to be a cat
I don’t know what insurance she had-but YES it will if you have back issues over it. I know the witch I use to work for-had one and her husband’s insurance 100 % paid for it.
Only if you and your doctor can justify it as a medical necessity. Sound like you’re the one who has concluded that a “lift” is the medical solution.
No, cosmetic surgery is not covered.
Cosmetic surgery as well as any surgery deemed “unnecessary” (i.e. your choice, not medical necessity) is never covered. You and your doctor would have to convince the insurance company that the procedure was medically necessary. Highly unlikely that will happen. Are you sure a lift will relieve any discomfort, or is there something else going on with you that can be alleviated by some other method?
You cannot use your medical account for cosmetic surgery, either. So if you have established a medical savings account to cover deductibles or in lieu of insurance, you cannot use that cash, either.
Nope, you don’t get a boob job or boob lift covered by insurance – it’s just cosmetic.
Best answer to the problem, is to get a really good fitting bra.
Ok, don’t listen to everyone saying that plastic surgery is not covered by insurance. I also have TriCare and I do know for a fact that they do cover breast reductions as long as your doctor states it is a medical necessity. You need to go to you PCM and have them refer you to a plastic surgeon. Now, just remember that a reduction and lift are different, so I am not sure if this will help you if you are strictly looking for a lift. I am actually in the process of getting TriCare to cover a reduction for me, but was told today that insurance does not typically cover a lift b/c it is considered cosmetic. If you are having pain you may need a reduction instead of a life b/c all a life will do will be put them into place while a reduction will take off some of the weight and put them back where they need to be. If you have any other questions feel free to shoot me an e-mail. Hope this helps!
