Why do I have hard vertical lines running down from breast augmentation incisions?
I had my surgery 4-5 weeks ago. I still have swelling at the incision of my left breast. When I would reach up, I noticed a bruised feeling under my left breast only. With further investigation, I saw that, that if the skin in pulled taut, there are three protruding, hard, vertical lines that stick out. They feel something like tendons do. No redness or any other pain. Should I be concerned or will this go away? Thanks!

could be what is called keloid skin, when layers of skin grow on top of eachother. not dangerous, but is a huge cosmetic issue, especially common in african americans
It’s not going away. Go back to your plastic surgeon and let him or her know about this. There may be a non-surgical way to correct it (i.e., massage.) They are not tendons.
It’s not going to hurt you, but it may mean that the implant has shifted or the underlying connective tissue has torn. So don’t delay too long.
