What is the probability that I would be approved for a breast reduction?
*I wear a size 38DD bra
*I weight 147
*Im not over weight, the weight is from my boobs
I have all the symptoms of big boobs, ie..strap groves in my shoulder, bad posture, back pain,
If you had a breast reduction. How did you get the insurance company to pay for it? How long did it take for them to approve it?
any comments would do really
I have been to my familys physician and with the plastic surgery, but the doctor said that there may be a chance that they wont give me the surgery, because my boobs may not be big enough. what did you do to get the insurance company to approve

How old are you? See a Dr.
Go to a plactis surgeon. If you can’t get in touch wwith one or don’t know how… Your local hospital can direct you in the right direction.
You need to see a plastic surgeon, first start with your regular doctor. They need to build a medical reason for reduction. Once the doctors justify it, the insurance company will pay for it.
With my insurance I have a primary care physician and he is the first person I would see about the problem. He would direct me to the next person I needed to see.
If you do not have a primary care then any doc would be able to get the process started.
I was in your same situation. I was a 36DD and I weigh 140. My breasts were saggy and it was incredibly uncomfortable to exercise. My bra straps would dig into my skin and I couldnt wear certain tops. I was not approved with the insurance cuz they said my breasts werent big enough. What crap is that even though I had all the symptoms? Well anyways, I suffered for years until my close friend from domincan republic got it done over there. the surgeon was very professional and reputable. It only cost me $2500. I had it done in Dec 08′ and I couldnt of been any happier. Everything went smoothly and my incisions healed up very nice. I doubt that many people would want to have any surgery done in another country, but I had a good experience. If you have any questions, just leave me a message on here.
good luck
i was a 32DDD/E, 115 lbs, 5’1″ and had grooves in my shoulders, back pain, neck pain, knee pain, lot of documentation from doctors, etc and i was still denied by 2 insurances saying i wasn’t big enough to qualify, despite fighting with them for approval. after giving up hope, i got a new job and decided to try one more time and was approved on the spot and covered 100%. all insurances have different criteria, so the best way is to make a consultation with a plastic surgeon and have your paperwork submitted.
i am not a 32C and love it.
Fight and fight and fight some more. It’s a disgrace how they want to rake in exorbitant premiums and not pay out. Keep records of everything–all your correspondence to them, your doctor’s recommendation, all their denials. Then tell them you’re going to hand it over to your attorney if they won’t approve. You don’t actually need one. Everybody hates lawyers, but also fear them. I once ended an argument with a school as soon as I mentioned the word, “lawyer.”
After that, get political. Find the offices of your state senator and representative since the state regulates insurance. They do all sorts of things you never knew they did, just to keep their constituents happy. That’s how they stay in office. If that doesn’t get results, make it a federal case. Get in touch with your U.S. senator and representative.
Or do it all at once. Hammer the hell out of them. It’s the squeaky wheel that gets the grease and yes, I’m encouraging you to set up a godawful shriek. Let me know how that works out for you.
