Top 5 Reasons to Avoid Breast Surgery

Many women would like to augment their breasts because they are unhappy with their overall appearance. One of the ways women have this augmentation completed is by pursuing breast surgery. However, this type of procedure has many risks associated that many women are unwilling to experience.

Cost - the cost of having cosmetic surgery performed to enlarge the breasts is very expensive. A procedure can run in the thousands of dollars, which is money that most women do not  have. This leads some women to borrow money from a family member, take out a loan or use a credit card, which can put the individual further into debt.
Recovery time – a breast augmentation surgery will require you to take time off work in order to recover. The initial recuperation period could be several days, with several weeks needed to heal from the surgery completely. This could create a financial hardship, since you would not be able to work.
Complications – any surgery is not without its risks and a breast augmentation is no different. Each person is unique and complications during surgery may arise. A simple surgery to change the size of your breasts can turn into a major situation should something go wrong.
Scarring – a breast augmentation requires the surgeon to cut open your existing breasts in order to insert implants. These incisions need to heal properly or major scarring can result from this surgery.
Medication – a result of this type of surgery is pain. In order to cope with the pain, your doctor will prescribe pain medication that will mask that feeling. The cost of this medication will also have to be added into the final cost of the procedure.

One area many of them look for improvement is the breasts size and one of the first ideas going through their mind is breast surgery. They overlook the huge risks associated with these procedures maybe because the risks are not very mediated.

Here are our top 5 reasons a women should avoid breast surgery for:

COMPLICATIONS – Any surgery holds a high risk of post op complications and that’s why in most instances surgery is only the last treatment option to be considered. Breast surgery is no different. It is IMPOSSIBLE you didn’t see in magazines or TV true stories about cosmetic surgeries gone bad. Even celebrities paying lots of money can suffer from these life changing scars because IT IS NOT ABOUT MONEY but about a real risk you take.

MEDICATION – If you think getting money for the surgical procedure is all you have to pay for… well, think again! In order to get over the post operative pain you will need medication. You will have to consider these expenses when planning to have a breast enlargement procedure.

RECOVERY TIME – Breast surgery will require time to heal and recover. The recovery period varies from several days to several weeks in order to completely heal. Consider this time as additional cost since you won’t be able to go to work during recovery.

While surgery seems to be trendy and very much promoted by celebrities other much more affordable solutions and definitely less risky are available. Remember: if it’s not expensive it doesn’t mean it’s not working!

Top Five Reasons for Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is now so widely accepted that most people don’t bat an eyelash when one mentions they’re thinking of it. Also, it’s a fairly routine procedure now, with many safe options to choose from (though it’s surgery nonetheless, and should not be undertaken lightly). Here are the top five reasons for breast augmentation:

1. It simply gives you bigger breasts! If done for one’s own approval, and not for a spouse or another’s acceptance, augmentation surgery can give a person their desired cup size.

2. Post-pregnancy reshaping or filling: after the pull-and-stretch of pregnancy itself, and then breastfeeding after, the breast muscles, skin and tissue are often irreparably pulled and shaped differently. Sagging is common, and many times a woman’s breasts are a smaller cup size.

3. Reshaping: the body is not an entirely symmetric shape. In most cases, a woman’s breasts are not exactly the same shape and size, and usually this does not cause concern. However, some women (and men) have a breast that is a noticeably different size than the other one. Breast augmentation (usually done for both breasts, albeit different sized implants) can “even out” the disparity between the breasts’ size. Also, people would like to have breasts that are more round than elliptical, or perhaps higher up on their torso. In other words, they would prefer to have a shape or size that’s different than what genetics gave them.

4. Reconstruction after breast cancer surgery, or other breast surgery: augmentation in this case can be both cosmetic and/or reconstructive, depending on the amount of breast tissue removed during a partial or full mastectomy. Often, the augmentation surgery can be done during the mastectomy or lumpectomy, or the doctor will make arrangements for a follow-up procedure after the tissue removal area has healed.

5. To fill out breasts and skin made flabby after weight loss: when a person loses a significant amount of weight, breasts lose their fat deposits too. Men and women who lose body weight – particularly if it’s done rapidly – are good candidates for having augmentation done because the breast skin is already stretched out. What’s worth noting here is that the weight loss process should be finished before deciding on the surgery, as further loss (or gain) could negate the positive visual and physical effects of the augmentation.

Many of the above points share a common trait: that breast augmentation is done to make the body more proportional. No matter what your opinion on personal beauty is, it’s common for a person to want to maintain a body shape and image that seems more typical to the rest of the parts of his or her body.
