Preparing For A Breast Lift Is The Most Difficult Part Of The Procedure

If you’re an aging woman, no doubt you have some breast sagging and droopiness that you would like to have corrected. And if you’ve had kids, then you definitely have some breast issues that you’d like to have corrected. While beauty might definitely be in the eye of the beholder, youthful and perky breasts certainly make a woman more beautiful and more self confident!
The first part of having your breast lift procedure involves doing your own extensive research. You must learn about the procedure itself, the recovery process, and having realistic expectations. If possible, you should find a few women who have undergone the procedure and ask them questions about the surgery itself, their recovery process, and how the procedure affected their lives in general.
Are you chubby? Maybe just a few pounds overweight? Or maybe you have an extensive amount of weight that you’d like to shed? If you are carrying around extra fat, you should try to lose as much of it as possible before you have your surgery. Excess weight can cause unnecessary complications during your surgery, so you should lose the excess poundage before you enter that operation room!
Sucking down the alcohol is another past time you’ll have to forego for at least a few weeks prior to surgery. If you can do it for a longer period of time, all the better. Alcohol causes a variety of problems in the body and you want to make sure your body is operating at its best when your surgeon is slicing open your body.
Do you smoke? Hopefully you don’t. Smoking is a horrible habit that weakens your immune system, impedes your circulation, and severely reduces your skin’s elasticity (ability to bounce back after being stretched). If you’re a smoker, your surgeon will require that you quit smoking for several months prior to your surgery. If you’ve been a heavy smoker all of your life, there’s a good chance that your surgeon may reject you for the surgery altogether because your skin won’t be able to fully heal from the procedure.
Your surgery recovery is a critical time that requires you to fully rest, especially during that first week. You will need to schedule 24-hour assistance from a friend or family member for those first few days after surgery because you won’t be able to move or lift your arms. Whoever makes the commitment to help you will need to take care of any chores that require physical use of your arms. The early part of your recovery is extremely important! You need to follow your surgeon’s directions explicitly!
If you are serious about having a breast lift, the one thing that I recommend is that you do your homework! You need to find out as much information as you possibly can through your own network of friends and relatives. Only after you have a good idea what is required of you for the procedure should you actually visit a board certified plastic surgeon. He or she can then tell you about all the details you didn’t know about when it comes to the surgery and your recovery process!
