My bra size is 36DD should I get a breast reduction?
Ever since I had a baby (I breastfed) my breasts have been huge and shapeless and my back hurts, should I get a breast reduction? How much is it? Would my health insurance pay for part of it? Have you or anyone you know gotten this surgery? How did it turn out?
I dated a girl that had the same type of problem. She said that she was getting a reduction. I don’t actually know if she got it or not, but they were huge.
As far as the amount is a few thousand from what she said.
You might want to consider it as you are having back problems. I would talk to your doctor about it because it may be your posture doing more damage than the breasts. Cost is dependent on the doctor and if your insurance will cover it.
Stop asking us and go talk to your doctor. He can answer all the questions (except cost, you’ll have to talk to the plastic surgeons about that).
I think you may be best off going to a plastic surgeon and asking these questions. I think many of them will give a free consultation.
Yes I know some one who just had it done the beginning of this year, she feels so much better now! it turned out great! If the doctor can say that it is affecting your health, causing you pain ( your shoulders, back etc), your insurance may cover it or part of it, but check first anyway! best wishes!!!!!!
If you have back problems and you are unhappy, yes you should get a breast reduction. You insurance will most likely pay for it if you can show that it is causing other problems such as skin or back issues. Talk to your doctor about it, GYN’s are great for this because they deal with women’s issues. They are usually very helpful. A good friend of mine had it done and the results were wonderful. She self esteem shot up and her physically pain disappeared.
If you can verify that your breasts are the cause of the discomfort, I would say definitely do it. But I would also make sure that your breast size is indeed the problem and be reasonably sure that breast reduction will solve the problem. As far as shape goes, that is a question only you can answer.
Health insurance may cover some of the costs – usually around $6-8,000 if you provide ample reason for it to be necessary for your overall health. The back pain is probably a result of the large breasts, however, they will always ask you to exercise and strengthen your muscles first because it’s a much cheaper and easier route to take. I have the same cup size breasts, and I hate the fact that they are so big, because I am a rather small person, but I can’t afford to take the time off work and pay for the surgery. You may regret it later, but I think I would totally be up to going through with surgery just to make it a 34C. Smaller breasts are also beneficial when breastfeeding because the child can “latch on” easier and suckle better.

Do whatever makes you happy. It is costly but insurance will cover part of the surgery if there is a legitimate medical reason, ie: back ache. Just keep in mind how much it will hurt afterwards, and it may be hard to take care of your baby if you’re in pain.
