Is breast reduction a valid option for me?
I am 15 years old, 5’3″, and currently a size 34DD (goodness knows if they’ll keep growing). I am very active in sports (cheerleading, lacrosse, dance), and even with a properly fitted sports bra designed for women with large breasts, it is still often painful and very inconvenient when I have to run, jump, or do anything of the sort. I have tried everything I can and this is still a problem for me. Could breast reduction be an option? Is there anything else I can try?

ooh god i was the same. trust me, ull love them when you become older.:)
yes I have the same problem, i;m 14. I have severe back problems. I am currently scheduled for a consultation on the 9th of february.
Surgery should only be an option if you are at least 18 years of age. Most doctors will not do breast reduction surgery on younger patients because your body is possible still developing. I wish I could help you with other options but I am not aware of any.
Yes, it coulb be a possibility. Talk with your parents and see if they will agree to a consultation with a plastic surgeon. Sometimes insurance will cover this procedure if it is deemed medically neccessary.
It can be in the future, but you really ought to wait until you get older. Also, talk with your parents about it. You should definitely wait until you reach maturity at least. That would stink if you went thru a reduction, just to have them keep growing on ya. Try different bra’s if the one you have isn’t working, try them on in the store and trot around, heaven knows they are not cheap. Good luck
breast redction should be the last resort in your case. i’ve had plenty of family members who have done but they’re all way older. ur way to young for surgery. but try working out, not just loosing weight but gain muscle too and in many cases that can make your breast smaller. but im sure there are many other natural ways to help you aswell
hope this helps
Yes it is an option. You have to do whats best for you. If it is causing you medical problems such as: back pain you should consider it. Good Luck!
I’m sure it sucks, but you should probably wait until you know for sure that they’re done growing. It would suck to have to go back and have them reduced again because they grew more. I doubt you’d have toooo long to wait. Maybe a year or two. I don’t think I have any other tips for helping you right now, though.
I had a reduction at 21. I was a large 36DD.
You really should do it! I love it now. but please, wait until you are at least 18. most dr.’s won’t do it unless you are of age.
I was the same way, maybe not quite that large at age 15, though. By the time I was 19, 5 foot 3, small boned and otherwise slender (I was in the military, so I was very physically fit), I was a 34DD. I had a breast reduction at the age of 20 and LOVED it. I also went on to breastfeed my children, the first one born only a year or so after the surgery. Just be sure to find a really experienced plastic surgeon if as an adult you decide to reduce. There will be scarring that fades well over time, and it is very important not to smoke cigarettes, as it decreases blood flow causing delayed healing. Be sure to have good insurance and plenty of time off to rest, as it is major surgery and a painful recovery.
Find a good bra in the meantime and get plenty of upper body excercise, keeping well-developed muscles to reduce the burden on your back. That might help with the back pain you experience in the meantime.
Keep in mind that with or without surgery, your breasts will grow with you, so having babies and weight gain/loss will affect their size throughout life.
Best of luck!!
Breast reduction would greatly benefit you.
Most PS’s don’t usually operate on anyone under the age of 18, however there are exceptions. Especially if you have back pain that affects your daily activities.
