How many teenage girls have a breast reduction?
My teenage daughter is finished growing. Her breast size is E. She hates this and her back and neck hurts , plus has related headaches. I would appreciate any information about breast reductions. This also reflects her opinion of her body…she is really hurting. She does wear a very supportive bra. I don’t have this problem. Please help…thank you
She is 5’7 and about 15 pounds overweight, but loosing weight would not help…although she is working on her weight. Thanks
She is 5’7

Ok, first of all take her to be refitted at a lingerie store that has a decent range, when i was 17 i was having the same problems and i was wearing a 36DD, turns out i was actually a 34G and now i am a 32K at 19. All the symptoms you are listing are from badly fitted bras. It’s hard to be large chested. Especially if she gets a lot of attention from it and she’s a naturally shy girl. I would suggest maybe even taking her to talk to the family doctor and see if they will do anything. My doctor said to me they don’t like to do breast reduction surgeries on women younger than 25 due to the hormonal changes. So maybe get her to wait it out. If she is overweight it’s due to her breast size. You need to tell her that. I weigh around 190pounds, but a found out at least 15 pounds of that is breast tissue (other part is mostly my butt, but we won’t talk about that now). So try to keep her weight out of it. Also is she using the contraceptive pill? That can cause breast growth, i tried the non-estrogen one, but it didn’t make a difference, so maybe it might work for her? But yeah, best thing you can do for her right now is take her to get fitted for a bra size. Even get her to have a look around on the bravissimo website and see if she can learn to love her body. If all else fails she may need counselling, this is normal of teenage girls as at least 25% of them have depression and this mainly stems from body issues. So try the counselling as well. And if it really comes down to it as a very last resort then go for the surgury. But be warned, it may fix her breast size, but it won’t fix her self worth issues.
