Can you have a breast reduction surgery covered with state aid?
I had insurance through my previous employer at the time I was approved for the reduction. I now have state aid since I lost my insurance. I live in Illinois. Anyone know?

I don’t know for sure about IL but it is definitely worth looking into. My friend is preparing to do it in ND and as long as she has notes from her doctor and chiropractor saying it is medically necessary her medical assistance will pay some of what her primary insurance won’t cover. Call your case manager and ask.
Most states require a medical (not cosmetic) reason for the coverage.
Usually only if the size of your breasts causes some other symptoms, like back pain, etc. You would probably have to be re-approved through the state aid program.
While you’re at it why don’t you check into getting a nose job and a tummy tuck. I don’t mind paying taxes for you to be happy. I’m sure my taxes are being spent on many things a lot less important than your breasts.
Seeing that your insurance had approved it, it must have been deemed medically necessary. I bet that the chances are high that it would be covered.
