Can you breastfeed after breast augmentation/implants?
I asked this question before and want to see if there’s anyone who has had breast augmentation and was able to breastfeed afterward. Or what your experience was after when trying to breastfeed? I have an appointment today with a plastic surgeon. But I still want to know what others have experienced to help me make my decision.

yes and it depends on the kind of implant you have just ask the dr and he will be able to tell you for sure
I suggest you wait until after you have a child to get them done, Your breasts grow and sag so much after the birth of a child that you would have to go back and have them fixed anyway.
As for breast feeding many mothers are still able to, some not as well as someone who does not have implants and there are the rare few that are unable to all together.
I had breast augmentation years ago & had no problem breast feeding. The incision would have to be under your arm or belly button. If the incision is done around your areola or under your breast there’s a big chance that nerve damage can happen.
breast implant ruptured into my 7th month of being pregnant.i wanted to breast feed but was to worried about that rupture and after i had her i found that i wouldn’t have been able to anyway because the implants would have made it impossible to have produced enough milk. this had something to do with size and placement.i don’t mean under muscle or over , it was how they “settled”
Some can, some can’t. Depends on if too many milk ducts are severed or not. If you haven’t had the surgery yet and plan on having kids I would wait for the surgery until after the kids are weaned.
My very good friend had breast augmentation 10 years ago and recently gave birth. She didn’t have any problem breastfeeding and lost NO sensation to her breast. Of course, all cases are different, but if you explain to the surgeon how important this is to you, they will be happy to explain the procedure and if this a possibility for you. In general though, breast-augmentation doesn’t create any problems. Good luck on your procedure!
