Can I have a breast reduction if i am overweight?
I have bmi of 41 and was wondering if i could have breast reduction surgery? Harley declined and said i would need to be 11 and a half stone (would need to lose 4 and a half stone) .
Can anyone shed any light?

Anyone can have the reduction surgery – however the risk is in having the anaesthetic – it cud be lifethreatening.
Also most of the breast tissue in u is adipose (ie fat) – ur boobs will disappear if u lose weight.
Really the best way is to concentrate on weight reduction and stay away from the surgeon.

Most doctors will require that you lose weight before having a breast reduction. The more excess fat you have, the larger your breasts will be. If you fail to maintain a healthy weight then you risk breast growth despite having the surgery. Work with a nutritionist and personal trainer to reach and maintain a healthy weight. You may notice that your breasts reduce on their own once you lose the weight and surgery may not be necessary.
