Can I breast feed if I had a reduction?
I am 15 weeks pregnant. I was wondering if anyone who has had a reduction has had problems with breastfeeding. For those of you who say ask a doctor, I am going next week so calm yourself. I was just wondering whether those who have had a breast reduction have any problems with breast feeding.

I’ve recently had a reducton and became pregnant soon after the pregnancy. But my sister had a reduction in ’99 and just had a baby Dec. 8th and she’s breast feeding with no problem.

If you had plenty of mass at the beginning and they didn’t harm any of the important parts for milk regeneration, prolly not. At least I would suspect that someone with large breast before hand wouldn’t have an issue. I guess you will find out after you have the baby.

my sister had a breast reduction done about 6years ago- one of her big concerns when having it done was if she would be able to breastfeed when she had kids- the surgeon said he couldnt guarantee it- but there was a good chance- but also that its something she wouldnt be able to find out until she actually was pregnant and had a baby. last June she gave birth to her first born and she is still breastfeeding !
It usually depends on if they removed the nipple during surgery. If they did, its a 50/50 chance. If they didn’t its a real good chance that you can.
